Hello,
I would like some input on spring classes. I plan on taking college math, public speaking, A&P 1, and A&P Lab 1. All courses are online. I am just wondering if I would be taking on too much. Right now I am in 3 online classes ( math, humanities, eng comp) and I am swinging it just fine with a little time left over. I am married with 3 children ( 2 of them babies still) so my study/work time is limited to nights after they are asleep.
Do you think this class combo would be too much or should I drop one?
I'm nervous about all the hype surrounding A&P and fear that I will get swallowed up. As of now with my current classes, I think I could have easily added another class but with A&P, I'm not so sure.
What would you do?
Thanks in advance!

Hi! It sounds good to me, although I'm not sure what those courses would be like online. It mainly depends on you and how much time you have to study. A&P will take up a lot of your studying time. It can be like taking two classes with both the lab and the lecture to study for. My advice for A&P is to read (or even skim) the chapters before class, take good notes, make charts and diagrams, study often, stay organized, and don't get behind.
Right now, I'm taking A&P, Statistics, and Sign Language, and I was afraid that it would be too much, but it turned out to be just right for me. I thought A&P would be much harder based on what I had heard about it, but it's not bad at all (it also helps that I love science) :) I didn't take public speaking (I took group discussion instead), but I'm sure it requires a lot of time to research, write, and practice. For me, I wouldn't want to take an English or Speech class along with A&P, just because those types of classes take up a lot of my time. It really depends on you and what you think you can handle.
Whatever you decide to do, I hope you still have extra time to spend with your family. Best of luck!
Thanks for your input :)
Your last sentence really made me think. I don't know if with the 4th class I will have any extra time to spend with my family....mainly my husband since evenings after kids are in bed is when we get to relax and hang out together.
Now Im really leaning on dropping the speech class....The thing is - I'll have to take on a 4th course at least once this upcoming year if I want to be done with all my pre-reqs by the end of next year.

I have 4 kids, so I understand! Online helps in some ways, but in others it makes it harder. I love that I can do my homework when my baby naps, etc, but at the same time it's hard to focus even when my husband is on kid duty when I hear my kids playing, etc. I'm taking 4 classes this spring including Political Science, History, Computer Science (all 3 of those online), and Anatomy (on campus). It can be done, but I suggest getting on as much of a schedule as you can, so everyone knows that between x:00 and x:00 mommy is "in class" even if that means you're sitting on your bed doing homework.
Thanks...a daily schedule is a good idea. I wish I could put my husband on kid duty but thats wishful thinking ...lol.
Speech doesn't sound so bad...only 4 speeches, a midterm and final. Doesn't seem like I'll spend too much time and maybe i can fit it in fine with my other classes.?
Gah!

a/p will be rough online . I could have never done this im finishing anatomy 1 now in person. I had to use internet quizzes and written practice test a lot to pass this class . it was rough in person so im sure online without a teacher in flesh to explain questions will be challenging
