Hello,
So way back in 2009 I was terminated from my job as an ER RN, I was accused of not documenting some wasted medication in the Pyxis, the BON was involved but thankfully they did NOT bring anything in my license. I received a letter from the BON that stated that they found no reason to do anything with my license, and it was still in good standing. Following that job in 2009 I have worked at a few different ER’s and every time the incident of my termination is brought up during my interview, I make sure to be honest, and every time I had been hired. Fast forward to a couple of months ago I had an interview in the ER in my town, I wanted this job soooooo badly and thought the interview went well. The Nurse Manager called me back shortly after the interview because he forgot to ask me about my termination. As with my other interviews I was honest, even disclosing that the BON did nothing against my license and I also pointed out that I had bee RE-HIRED by the same health system that had fired me. A few days later I received an email from HR that said basically they are not going any further with me tho they were impressed with my qualifications (I’m assuming I did not get the job due to my termination in 2009) I was heartbroken. Since I did not get that job, I applied to 2 other ER positions in the same heathsystem as the one I didn’t get and have not received an interview. I’m wondering if maybe they flagged my app as not hireable? I’m wondering if I should just re apply when they have another opening to show that I’m really interested, or just let it go? I normally would have just let it go but I REALLY wanted this job ☹️.
Sorry for the long post, but any advice would be appreciated.
