Advice needed.. what to do about this

Ok I took a biology class for FUN...by fun I mean expecting work but I was looking fwd to the volunteering component with this class in particular. Anyway it's a nightmare. I transferred in late at the last add/drop day. The teacher does not give us any grades. I've had a practical, exam, essay, 1 mini power point, 2 major power point assignments. And she gives NO GRADES!!! She gives subjective feedback.. "you're doing well." Well guess what? A girl is in that class for the second time because she had to repeat it for "doing well" after she got a C (for bio and nursing majors you need a grade of 78% or better in science and math) and that's not the only student in her boat. She told me she didn't know she was getting a C until the end of the semester, despite the fact the teacher told her she had A's and B's on her exams.

I'm also frustrated by the fact that we need to teach ourselves at our desks or when we go outdoors (field work)..that's not what frustrates me..what frustrates me is that everyone talks now and then when she isn't. Nearly every time I open my mouth she singles me out and tells me stop talking because I'm not going to have "any idea what was going on when I get home." This has happened when other students asked me a question and I just answered a one word answer. I'm not loud..I'm not a bad student..I'm not disruptive..

I know how this sounds. Like I'm possibly a bad student who is trying to put the blame on the teacher. This is not the case! I work hard and have a 3.9 gpa, am ALWAYS respectful to my teachers even when other classmates don't like the teacher I show them respect!!!

This is what I think my options are, please let me know which is best or what you would do?

1. Do nothing, hope for the best, but if I get a grade lower than 78% I have to repeat it (this is the only teacher who teaches it) and have 1 shot to repeat it or out of the nursing program.

2. Talk to the teacher directly...for the second time. Say something like "I need to be able to tell what my grades by seeing numbers" or something more tactful than that really.. The first time I talked to her I asked about not knowing my grades. She said "I tell you how you're doing." that was 2 weeks ago though and no I don't know how I'm doing.

3. Go to the dean. I have 4 letters of recommendation I've gotten for other things (jobs, volunteering) from my a&p teacher, my genetics teacher, my chem teacher, and my nursing teacher. I would show the dean I don't just not get along with teachers or have ever had a problem with one before. And tell the dean that I'm not getting any numeric grades to show my progress in the class and I can't go off of a teacher saying I'm just doing fine.

What do you guys think honestly please?

You said you added the class for 'fun'. Since it has proven to be anything but fun, I would withdraw from the class.

I forget to mention I can't withdraw. I'm taking 13 credits because I'm also working. It's the only semester I've taken under 17 and this happens... but anyway I need to stay full time for my scholarship and financial aid. I can't afford school without them.

I asked the fin aid department if I'd lose my scholarship/aid if I get a grade of W but go under full time I was told that I will and be responsible for paying.

#3 won't work because a college professor can legally withhold your numeric grade until the final semester grades.

So I say to just talk to your teacher again and be more specific this time by discussing and going over your grades with her. Tell her you want the letter not the evaluation. Then if that does or doesn't work, just continue to strive for good grades. Don't compare yourself to others either, just because that girl got a C doesn't mean she told you everything of why she may have gotten that C. Just do good, you'll be fine.
