advice needed

Hey. I am hoping to get accepted this fall into an ASN program. I was thinking about working part-time, (24-30 hrs.), as I go through the program. I am also married with no kids. I was wondering if anyone with similar circumstances would have any helpful advise. Thanks.

Work some place where you can do homework. You will have plenty of time to work hard later.

Night shift.

I worked as a nuring assistant while I was in school and feel that it made school, and clinicals in particular, much easier.

I would try to work no more than two days per week. Nursing school will prove to be a 40hr/wk job (at least). Dont compromise your performance in school by working too much because you may need at least all B's when you choose to take the next step up the ladder. Good luck!

Well said. When (not if) you decide to move on and and get a BSN/MSN later your GPA will be important in terms of scholarships and acceptance into other programs. Also note: there seems to be a growing number of masters programs that are waiving the GRE requirement if your have a decent GPA. That alone is worth it.
