Advice needed: 2nd chance....is it possible?

Published

Hi to all,

i was wondering if anyone has advice or has been in my situation, what worked for you?

Here's my deal. i have my LVN license and i am on probation but in good standing. to finish up my probation (i have a year and 2 months left) i need to be consistently employed for at least six months. The fact is, i have not been sucessful in finding emplyment in San Diego where i currently reside. i have done everything i can think of!!!!! As soon as a perspective employer finds out i am on probation, the door shuts in my face.

What can i do?? i have two small children that are depending on Mommy to bring home the bacon. BTW, my offense was over 15 years ago, had it expunged B4 nursing school, it was a drug related misdemeanor.

ANY serious advice would be wholeheartedly appreciated. :crying2:

Find a job that's not in the nursing field to get your 6 months in for probation. Then you won't have to tell them anything.

My probation is with the nursing board, so the job i get has to be in the LVN scope of practice.

Is there any sort of telehealth postition you could get? Perhaps if you weren't dealing directly with patient care they would be more open to it.

Good point, shortscrubs108 i had not thought of that. Ive been scouring craigslist,Monster,Careerbuilder etc. everyday, went for an interview yesterday.....didn't get it, :( trying to keep my spirits up and stay positive.
