Hey everyone!
I need some advice. So, I got accepted by a LVN to ADN program at a community college. I heard the program is very very tough, tougher than other schools. Lots of students dropped from the program. I am very nervous about it because honestly, I am not a confident person. Plus, the main problem is, English is not my first language. Sometimes, I can't explain things well. I suffered from this problem when I was in LVN program. Even though I survived afterwards.
I do have another option, I can take one more chemistry class then I can apply for LVN to BSN program. I am looking at Azusa Pacific. Also I will give a try at CSU Fullerton and some other university. BSN program focus more on theory, which I think I am good at. So I am less worried about it. I believe I can be more successful at BSN program than ADN program.
The thing is, for ADN bridge program, it will be one year and a half. Then I can find a job and take BSN online. For BSN bridge program, it will be half a year for chemistry and 2 year program. I do want to finish school as early as possible to find a job.
What would you choose? LVN to ADN with 1.5 years or LVN to BSN with 2.5 years.
Thank you very much for reading and answering!

Lose the idea that the BSN focuses "more" on theory (as compared to clinical" or compared to ADN programs?). To be accredited EVERY nursing program has to have the same number of clinical hours.
Whew.
Now, go direct to the BSN. You'll need it anyway, and the extra year will be nothing when you are five years out. And for what it's worth a lot of employers are tumbling to the idea that online programs aren't providing the same level of education as residential/brick and mortar ones, and you will find yourself in competition with those other grads. I hear so many people say that they will do it by getting an RN minimum degree and then "just" do the online BSN. Shortcut solutions do not make for excellent education.

Hello. From the looks of your situation, I would choose the LVN-ADN. Then you can later try for an Advanced Track BSN program at the university ( my current plan ). Your acceptance into the BSN program isn't promised. It would suck to turn down an offer to start school right away, only to be turned down and have to wait even longer (worst case scenario, but still very possible). "Tough" is relative. If you got through a LVN program, then don't doubt yourself. You can do it!
