Specializes in Acute eldery medical.

Hello all,

I would greatly appriciate whatever help and information you lovely people could provide for me on the following question,

Im an Auxilliary nurse in the UK on an Acute elderly medical ward.

In the next year or so my fiance wants us to move out to the USA (more than likely Boston) which leaves me with an issue!

Do American hospitals hire A/N's? Im a trained HCA but currently working as a grade 2 due to lack of HCA jobs!

I want to do my nursing training idealy but have no idea how i would go about doing this in the states!!

Many thanks in advance,

Sarah :redbeathe

What visa will your Fiancée be coming over and will you be married by then and have permission to work?

Without knowing what visa you will be coming over it is hard to say but the US has CNA so may want to look in the CNA forum (in the student section) or go to the site forum and see what requirements are for that state

What visa will you and your soon to be husband be using to come to the USA? Not all visas allow spouse to work so a lot will depend on type of visa.

CNA = certified nursing assistant and again will vary from state to state on what you need to do. I would suggest you check out the state forum where you are planning on living (links can be found under the region tab) or look at the CNA forum under the student section
