Travel company tells me they have a ER job in Anchorage. They are offering $48/hr. Only problem is my housing, travel, insurance, rental car, all are coming out of that $48/hr so it puts me at new grad pay..$30/hr. I'm new to traveling. This will be a 13 week assignment. Does this sound right? I was thinking they should pay for housing at least, and I'd handle a rental car, family insurance. Put me closer to $40/hr. Anyone with travel experience, or Alaska Nurse's have any thoughts. Shoot me a PM or post, I'd appreciate any advice.

Meaning are they paying all the extras outside of that rate? Just trying to get a handle on pay etc for future contract negotiations.... :)
rotteluvr31, ADN, RN 208 Posts May 3, 2010 new grad pay..$30/hr..In my neck of the woods (WI) that's pretty high for new grad pay. They start most new grads here at about $23/hr.I've been looking at jobs in Juneau (hubby is currently working there) and it appears at the hospital they start new grads at around the $25 range. Not so sure about the pay range for Anchorage... I don't know much about travel nursing, but I did think they were supposed to help with housing. I have read about some of the hospitals in AK that provide housing for their nurses, but again, I'm not that familiar travel nursing.
