I'm looking for some tips/advice. I was a Paralegal for 7 years before I decided to go to nursing school. I did an accelerated program and was working in an ICU for 6 months before I injured my back and ending up resigning. Since I'm only 29 years old and would like to stay healthy I've decided to return to the legal field and combine both my fields of experiences.
My future employer has agreed to allow me to take one day off a month to stay current with healthcare and my license. I'm wondering if I'll be able to find a hospital or agency willing to work with me on that.
I'm not even sure if this is the best route to go but I want to make sure that I keep my options open by maintaining my license and some experience.
Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on this? I live in St. Louis, MO.
Thanks!

One day a month is not enough, really. In order to keep current, you really need at least a day a week. I'm curious at why you don't look at some other areas of nursing that would not impact your back? (NICU springs to mind, office work, case management)
It seems a shame to give up a career- when there are so many options out there.
