I been a night shift bedside nurse going on 16 years. A new oppurtunity came up to accept a position as a triage/advice nurse. It is a temp work from home position.
I don't hate bedside but I don't love it either. I been thinking of moving to a different position lately but I have senority and can get my requested vacations and love all my coworkers. A couple of more years and I can work one weekend a month which is great!
If I leave I would be at the bottom of the list basically starting over. I know triage nursing has its stress and Im sure it can be busy and have its craziness. But Im sure it beats having the stress of bedside care. I guess im asking what should I do. If I take the triage position I would still want to keep my bedside care job as an extra job 1-2 x a week. Just so if the triaging doesnt work out for me then I can come back to my position.
Should I bite the bullet and go for a change? uuuhhh decisions decisions...

You could consider asking to move to per diem status at your bedside gig. If management agrees to let you do that, it would give you an opportunity to try out something else and still be able to pick up shifts.
