Adv. Physiology

I am starting my MSN at Duke for neonatal nurse practitioner in the fall. I will be attending part time and advanced physiology will be one of my 2 classes during the first semester. Does anyone have any suggestions for review? I just would like to lightly review some topics before I start the class.

Thanks

Chris Henshaw has a lecture series, she teaches out of Seattle, and on iTunes you can download her pathophysiology lectures, I have been listening to them every day in prep for my advanced patho class that starts in March. Good luck!

I had the same question. I found a physiology course online through Coursera. It is actually instructed by a Duke professor. I have no idea how good the course is as I haven't taken it yet, but I believe it's free so I will probably try it out as a refresher before I start my FNP program this Fall. I haven't taken any science courses for 12 years which makes me super nervous about jumping into patho first semester 😳

If you have any other suggestions for getting ready for patho let me know!

Thank you! I will check into that site and course. I am happy that I am doing a advanced physiology class before having to take pathophysiology. I found a couple books for review they are called clinical physiology made ridiculously simple and clinical pathophysiology made ridiculously simple. I have started reading the one for physiology and really like the layout, it was written by a physician who wanted to create a clear and concise review for the medical boards. They are written by Steven Goldberg, MD and are reasonably priced. If I come across anything else I will post about it here too. Good luck in your upcoming program!
