Adult Progressive Care to Pediatrics

Hello!

I am a new grad nurse and have been working on a progressive care unit for 6 months now. Through nursing school I always wanted to do peds/nicu/or l&d but had a hard time landing positions in those specialties especially during covid. After 6 months of working with adults I still think kids is where my passion is. I am planning on staying at my current job for at least a year to build a solid foundation before looking for a new job. I am worried it will be hard to get a job in peds without a lot of peds experience. has anyone else made this switch?? how hard was it for you?? any advice is welcome!!
