Saturday and Sunday 7-3 (although some days we got out earlier) for 7 weekends. The first weekend has one day of skills testing and one day of orientation. Not by choice, I went to Orange Park but it turned out to be a really good rotation. Saw and did a lot. I suggest taking Adult Health first and psych next. Adult Health is more intense (but not as time consuming as term 1) and you are rewarded with the ease of psych for the second 8 weeks. PM me if you have any other questions.

3rd term, take Peds first and OB second. and last term is when it comes all together. I felt like last term was such a breeze. =)
Thanks Miss Whitney, that is good to know (about 4th term). As far as I know, EVE/WE doesn't have a choice as to what to take first. This term it was PSYCH then AH1.
I take it PEDS is more challenging than OB?
A lot more intense. A lot of people have a harder time with Peds than OB. OB is easy, esp. if you already have children.

I will be applying to FCCJ for summer 2010, and I'm trying to decide between nights/weekends and daytime. I went to an info session and was told once you choose, there is no way to change. Obviously, this is all IF my points are high enough...
FLmom or anyone else in nights/weekends, what are your thoughts? I have two small children, so nights/weekends would eliminate the need for childcare, and I also heard the summer 2010 nights group will be at Deerwood. I'm right around the corner, and Deerwood is a huge appeal to me just for the gas/driving factor! How do you like the program? I was thinking it would be kind of nice to have a small group (its 24, 2 groups of 12, right?)- are the clinical opportunities the same, is there a skills lab at Deerwood (it was mentioned at the info session you need to make your own time to practice in the skills lab)... etc... etc... Sorry for all the questions! :)
I was going to PM someone but I don't have 15 posts yet!
Thanks so much!!
Eve/WE is always at Deerwood. It is down the street from where I work, so it is convenient for me. During term 1 you have to go to the North Campus for your tests on Mondays. Term 2, all our tests were at Deerwood. I love the E/W group. We are older and most of us have families/jobs. We relate to each other very well. Yes, it is 24 students in sections of 12. You will be in the same classes with all 24 for the 4 terms (+/- those who leave the program and are replaced).
Deerwood does have a "lab" with dummies. It is harder to get access to this lab off hours so most of us went to North campus lab to do our "outside of class required 15 hrs of practice".
You can never predict clinicals. During term 1, section 7 went to Baptist Downtown and section 8 went to Baptist South....which was quite a drive for some folks! You can change "sections" at the end of each term. Term 1 I was in section 7, this term I am in section 8....because the clinical choices were OPMC or Baptist DTWN. I live on the westside so I wanted OP. BTW, If you get the chance, go to OP for clinicals. Baptist doesn't have the going's on during the weekend that OP has so you get MUCH more experience!
Good Luck!
