Here I am 9 months past graduation. I am in a Bachelors program that will currently take me over 2 years to complete. So lets see, the only job I got offered was in LTC. I lasted 5 months. NOT a safe environment and I really don't feel like losing my license in the FIRST YEAR OF NURSING. So here I am. Jobless... using my other career to fall back on. Time to rip up the diploma??? I have applied hundreds of times along with my fellow graduates. Unless you know the CEO of a hospital ya just cant land a job as an associate degree nurse. Yes that's right the ONLY associate nurses I have known that have gotten jobs in hospitals know someone HIIIIIGH UP THERE. or they were CNA'S PRIOR to the licensing exam. I do know some who are STILL CNA'S and have yet to get offered a job!!!!!! I was going to take a CNA job but the only place that was hiring was located 40 miles away. OH WELL LESSON LEARNED CAN I GO BACK IN TIME?? I guess I should have stayed at the LTC facility where everything they do there is against ALL the morals and ethics we should have as nurses. I am so broken and disgusted by my first 9 months in this field. ABOUT TO GIVE UP.

I am sorry that you are not finding a job in NY. Maybe its time to think about going South? There are plenty of jobs down there. They are building hospitals and would love to hire you!
