ADN programs in Dallas area questions

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hi yall! I currently live in Plano,Tx..bout .5hr north of Dallas (just moved here bout 5months ago). I am looking to attend a campus which offers an ADN program. I currently have a BS in Bio that I earned in 2005. Could any one give me or lead me to a list of all the programs offered in my area?......Also, I am affraid of some of my previous course work becoming "out dated"..ie"5yr time out"...however, I hear that if you worked in a workplace that upkeeps your practical knowledge since that time, you may not have to do remediation. In that case....since 2005 I worked as a pharmacy tech for bout a yr, and then as an apheresis/lab tech. While I worked both of these jobs, I also worked as Surgical Tech with an OPO on tissue and solid organ cases. I recently moved to Tx to pursue the OPO job full-time. My employer offered to pay for the costs of obtaining my RN.......yall think I gotta do alot of remediation?

Thanks to all of you!!

You have plenty of options in the Dallas area!!

1.) El Centro College ADN Program- (I'm currently a student there hoping to get in this Fall)

2.) Brookhaven College ADN Program- (I'm also about to apply here as well for next fall, their program is a little shorter than El Centro's)

3.) Collin County ADN Program- (I don't know much about their program, but they do have one)

Those are the main 3 that I know about in the Dallas vicinity. I also know Tarrant County has a program but I'm not sure at which campus. I know plenty of info about Brookhaven and El Centro programs so if you have any additional questions I would be willing to answer them for you. As far as your time limit on your courses you may have to retake some of them, if you don't pass an examination for those classes. In ADN programs though, the better your GPA, the better your chances are of getting in. So depending on what your GPA is for your pre-reqs you may consider retaking classes for a higher grade.
