Admission/Acceptance to Georgia Regents/Georgia Health Sciences

Published

Hello! I just joined and couldn't find any other thread that had anything about admission stats or anything for Georgia Regents (formerly Georgia Health Sciences) and I am so nervous about getting into the BSN program, I applied with my first choice in Athens, and second as Augusta.. I have a 3.7 and got an 86 on the TEAS V and was wondering if anyone knew if that was competitive or what your stats were?!

HELLPPPPPPP :nailbiting:

I am having some issues getting my shot records. :/

And I am watching orientation now, but it's not very helpful.

If you have any questions about immunizations I will be able to help. I am very familiar of what they need. What is the problem?

We basically need titers for everything right?

You need the titers to be positive. If they are not positive you will need boosters. You also need your tetorifice and polio series.

Has anyone been able to get their net ID?

Titers:

HIV

Hep C

Hep B

Varicella

There are titers for MMR but they are 3 different test and that can be very costly. It is easier to just find out where you had 2 MMR injections.

Thanks that was extremely helpful. I am fortunate that my mother kept all my shot records so even at 30 I still have them :)

So if we have been given the vaccines, we still need the titers?

And are the titers and HIV screening expensive?

Yes you will still need the titers. This will prove that the injections has done their job to boost your immunity. You would have to call around to the different labs to get the prices. They can differ. If you have insurance they may cover it. You will have to see a provider to have them sign off on the immunization form that is on the SH website. At that time they can order the titers if you have not had them done yet.

So only labs can do titers?

Yes, it is bloodwork. It will have to be ordered by a doctor though. I bet you could go to the health dept to have the labs done. They should charge you based on your income.

Have you received your Net ID to sign on pulse?

The health department is where I had all of my vaccines done. I was wondering if they could do the titers too.

I just sent the deposit, so I won't get my Net ID until they receive it.

Which CPR class do we need to take?

I just had titers done at my local health dept for Varicella and MMR for another school, it was $80. They were the cheapest place I could find and it only took a few days to get the results.
