ADHD with or with out Meds?

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Hi, I am a nursing student and I was just recently dx with ADHD. I am contemplating medication, but I just am not quite sure yet. Is it possible to be an RN without the medication. Are there any resources out there I can refer to?

Thanks so much for any feed back.

I takes a little getting used to as well. (Almost all ADHD meds do.) But of all the ones I've tried it's the one that works best for me. My late afternoon crash is usually 15-30 minutes long unless I've been delaying it artificially. I remember last semester I did a concerta and Barqs mix so I could finish a research paper, I didn't sleep for about 20 hours then slept for ten and a half.

For me, I learned that the only way to cut off my crashes was to eat small snacks throughout the day and that stopped the headaches and the tiredness that came with the crashes.
