Hello!

I am applying to the ABSN program at adelphi for the Summer 2023 class. I was just starting this to get specific information from everyone like have you gotten called for an interview yet and where else you are applying

Hi I was interested in applying as well. do you know the start date of the program? I think it does clash with my graduation date from my undergrad. and good luck to you!

hi! I don’t. the information they put out there is so vague, I wish I had more information on the dates! it’s probably late may I’m sure it won’t clash.

I have heard that Adelphi almost lost their right to teach nursing due to very poor recent NCLEX passing rates and other reasons that I am not familiar with. I have also heard that they are working towards increasing the passing rate to a B+, but I am not sure if/ or when they are planning on doing this. I have recently met a student who will be graduating soon and she expressed to me that she was very unsatisfied about the program. A clinical professor and another professor also shared that the Adelphi Nursing Program is in bad shape. Lastly, a friend of mine recently got accepted into Adelphi Nursing Program (and LIU) with a TEAS score of 59%. Molloy and other nursing schools on L.I. did not accept her. My advice is: do your own research and if you want to go for it, do it! You can always transfer into another school in the future...The good thing about Adelphi is that they are now offering a lot of grants (some are like 19k off per academic year) which is extremely rare and may save you from taking loans, etc.....

hi! what did she not like about the program? the only problem for me is that adelphi is just so convenient for me! I have been accepted to molloys program but they told me 2 years to complete when I’ll be done in 14 months at adelphi which I like and stony brook is a little too far for me. I haven’t heard at all about their low NCLEX scores but I did know for a period they weren’t accepting students in their ABSN and that’s why the extended the program deadline. This is the first time I’m hearing anything you’ve said which is so crazy! I’ve always heard they prepare their students well.

I am not quite sure what is wrong with the program. A clinical professor said that there's also a clear difference between Molloy and Adelphi students in clinicals and that Adelphi students don't have the same knowledge and preparedness compared to Molloy students. Also, the fact that they have lowered the standards of acceptance (low TEAS scores) says something. I understand your eager to be done sooner, but in general, nursing has a lot of difficult courses (harder than pre-requisite courses) & it's too many classes crammed together in a short period of time. Sometimes it's best to have a bit more time so you don't have to retake any courses along the way...Regardless of the nursing program (regular/ accelerated...) you will likely have no life throughout the duration of the program...

Also Molloy's name is super renowned in the world of nursing. Having that in your resume will definitely make a difference!
