An acute fracture is a break in a bone that occurs quickly, rapidly and usually traumatically.
A non-acute fracture is one that occurs over time, often because of repeated physical stress or impact (weight bearing) placed on the bone. Pain that worsens over time along with swelling of the part involved are symptoms. Also called stress fracture.

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between an acute and a non-acute fracture? Any help is appreciated.
Thx.
