I am doing a postgrad cert paper, I am having trouble understanding how a loop diuretic works on the loop of Henle and its fluid movment. Can anyone help me understand this better. Thanks:lol2:

- Normally, 35% of filtered NaCl is reabsorbed in the thick ascending loop of Henle.
- The asc loop transports NaCl via the Na+/K+/Cl++ symporter - this is blocked by loop diuretics.
- Prevention of NaCl reabsorption leads to increased loss of free fluid.
