It depends on the hospital and the unit where you will be working. It looks good to have it, but many employers will offer it for free to their new nurses.

Upon hire we take a telemetry course first, then we must take ACLS with in one year of hire. I work on a tele/trauma/surgical/open heart floor so it is vitall that one takes it. It would never hurt to have that knowledge behind you.

After i passed the nclex i have to look for a job as RN in CA area. Do I need this certificate ACLS? Can somebody help me with this question?
