Acid reflux/gerd

I've been diagnosed with gerd and it's really bad and I have heartburn and chest pains everyday it gets worse when I eat. I just want to know if anyone else on here has gerd/acid reflux and how do you deal with it. This just started 2 weeks ago so I don't know how to feel about it. My doctor prescribed medication that helps a little but not a lot. I can't help to feel sad and scared that I'm gonna die from a heart attack. Which is making my chest pains worse I don't know how to be calm about it, but I do need to calm down

You need to go back to your pcp and talk through your concerns. You are not the first person who has felt as if they were having a heart attack when their issue was reflux.
