accredidation

is it better to graduate from a program approved by the NLN or by one that is just approved by the ohio board of nursing

Other things being equal, it's better to have graduated from an accredited program than a non-accredited program.

Also, is the non-accredited program a new program that hasn't gotten accreditation yet, or are they just not interested in accreditation? Because, if they're new and applying for accreditation, when they get it it will be retroactive (even if you've already graduated, you will be someone who graduated from an accredited program).

no the non-accredited which is only accredited by the ohio board of nursing and the higher learning comission was founded in the 1900 it is a hospital based (The Christ Hospital) who just started awarding ADNs instead of just a diploma which is why i am surprised it is not NLN approved it is very well known in Ohio the one i am attending is NLN approved but the waiting list is 2 years while the christ hospital has no waiting because it is a private institution and they dont just accept anyone and i been thinking about applying

I think that you should look into each program for their pros and cons. Accreditation is just one factor among many.
