accounting or nursing

Published

I'm halfway thru my first semester in the LPN program. Its going ok, I've passed everything so far and clinicals are'nt as bad as I thought they would be yet (but have my first incontinent and dependent client next week). Anyway, there was a posting for an accouting clerk job where I work. I applied and may be offered the position (I now work part-time in the factory so I have time for classes). I have an associates degree in accounting from 3 years ago, but never got an interview (one of the reasons I went into nursing). If I took the job, I would have to drop out of school, but I would have insurance and would'nt have to take out addition loans. But, I guess its all mute, because it only pays about what I'm making now, which is'nt going to be enough to pay back my school loans. But it could eventially lead to the main accounting position. What do you guys think?

I think that it would be a good idea to forget about the ''here and now'' for a moment and decide what you want to do with your life long term. I know that you need to be able to support yourself now, but you're already able to do that with the factory job. Even though you may like the accounting clerk position better than the factory, unless it is something you want to do long term, you might be better of considering staying put.
