accepting applications still?

Are there any nursing schools that are still accepting applications for the fall (or whatever start date). A one-year job I had fell through and I had postponed applying because I was planning on working. Now I want to try to get started on my nursing education. I want to go in the direction of being an FNP and already have a B.S. (in biology) and health care experience. A direct entry program would be ideal, but at this point I'd settle on getting my RN first and applying to FNP programs following that. Everywhere I've managed to find had a deadline in January or February. It would be ideal for it to be in Oregon (maybe Washington) or online.

Thanks for any help!

There are two in my state still accepting apps. Touro and University of Southern Nevada in the Las Vegas Nevada area. Touro is an ELM program and USN an accelerated BSN.

Drexel's Ace program (accBSN) in Philly is still accepting apps for Spring 2008. All you have to do is fill in an online app and send in transcripts and that is it. No letters, essay or interview.

I'm from WA and I know that no direct-entry program here is accepting apps anymore. I also believe none in OR either. Unless you would be ok in doing an 2-yr associates degree at community college. I know Shoreline CC in WA accepts people every quarter, but its extremely competitive. I think more so than some direct-entry programs.

I went to an open house in March and spoke with the Director of admissions. She told me to send in my stuff for Fall 2007 semester. I kept in touch with her until I sent in my application two weeks ago. I'm still waiting for a repsonse. Try and find an open house or contact the Director of admissions at schools near you. It doesn't hurt to ask and it shows that you are modivated and ready to go. GL!

I did the same thing. The admissions advisor had told me after looking at my transcripts that I really should redo a few classes to be more competitive. My shot at getting into this particular school didn't look good. Well, I went to their open house, spoke with the DON. Their admissions process is not point system but based on interview, grades, rec ltrs etc. I got in! I guess she liked how motivated I was!

Thank you. I am really relieved I got into at least one school. This one isn't my first choice because it is so expensive but at least I know I have somewhere to go!
