I got accepted into the RN program for Fall13'!! After about 2 years of pre-reqs I finally get to start my nursing school journey!! Orientation is in about a month! Now just have to get physical, immunizations, and CPR certification! I am so nervous about starting the nursing program!! Just wanted to share my excitement! :-D
@starfish2012, although I am not yet in the nursing program ( I find out in July), I have worked full time during taking my pre-reqs. I am an Endoscopy Technician, basically assisting and working side by side with doctors doing colonoscopies gastroscopies and some other specialized procedures. It's hard work and took a lot of dedication, but I just found out I made Deans list for last semester and I was ecstatic. It's great to know your hard work pays off. So I will conclude by saying, it's a struggle but it is do-able.
For those who just got accepted or aspiring to nursing school did any of your work part-time or full-time while you were doing prereqs. If so, what type of work did you do?[/quote']I am very lucky I have not had to work while going to school. My husband has a decent job that allows me to stay home with our two little girls and go to college full time. College is challenging enough with the duties of a mother and a wife. I couldn't imagine having to work full time too!
Bottom line, you can do anything with hard work regardless of the situation! Good Luck!
