Accepted students for Moorpark College Spring 2016

Hi everyone -

I'm starting this thread for anyone who has been accepted into Moorpark College's ADN program for the Spring 2016 cohort.

I know that the thread leading up to the admission decision wasn't all that active, but I'm hoping this one might be!

I want to be able to connect with many of you before our orientation on the 26th of this month!

Anyone else get their call and pick up their letter?! :D

I have seen the nursing program students around campus as well as having a friend in the program who takes some pictures- the uniform is all white. I like it though because the top is a collar button which I think is cool lol.

I knew the top was like that, because I think every nursing program I've ever had friends in/seen, it's always that white top :]

I'm just not excited about white pants, lol. I think I'm going to have to invest in a lot of Tide To Go sticks >___>

Yup all white!! Horrible color! I wish they would at least change the pant color, COC wears navy pants and Pierce wears red pants! Pierce has zipper tops which is nice. Moorparks top is okay, just hard to get over your head. it only has a few buttons and the rest is closed. last year when everyone was trying on the scrubs to buy at the open house there was about 10 lbs of makeup on the tops (gross)

When I went to Pierce we were still rocking the white pants lol they sucked. I love the red pants I see the students wear at my hospital though. They look much better. Does your husband know his clinical assignment for 3rd semester? He could end up at my hospital, I love working with Pierce nursing students! I was one not very long ago at all. Congratulations on getting into Moorpark!

He loves the red pants! I think it looks nice when the pants are a different color. Moorpark says they keep it all white so patients and staff can tell us apart from the nurses and doctors. He believes he will be at a providence hospital again just not sure which one yet. What hospital do you work at? He was at Holy Cross first semester and is at Kaiser right now. Thank you!! excited to finally start and catch up to him :)

I'm an RN at St. Joseph. I remember 3rd semester was a lot better in my experience. You guys will both be RN's in no time. #powercouple lol

Is it almost like a polo, Moorpark's top? That's so odd. But I agree that I wish the pants color were different! All white reminds me of like chefs, lol.

Do you know if we get to choose our own kind of scrub pants though? Like the brand or is that specified too by the school?

And that sounds gross - not saying I'm not guilty of this myself sometimes but they're at least my own clothes that I own. Not something that a bunch of people have to try on, haha.

No, it's a scrub top just a little different style. I wish I had taken a pic, I'd send it to you. I'll see if I can find it. No, they pick out I believe two pant styles and the same top for everyone. Last year it was so chaotic with everyone trying on the scrubs I didn't even pick what I wanted. when I returned them because I didn't get in, I tried on all the different options so i would know this semester what to order. They are from a scrub shop in Simi. Comes with a patch you have to sew on.

At least you're all set then knowing all that for this semester :]!

I just wish it was next Monday already. I'm so excited/anxious to meet everyone, get all the info and be able to get started on everything that we need!

Several of my friends and my husbands nursing classes have used a FB group as a tool of communication and it has worked great! :)
