Accepted to RN school, but have a traffic arrest... am I doomed

Nurses Criminal

Published

In 2004 I got a ticket for speeding, but I was young and ignored it, and got a failure to appear. In 2007 I found out the fine was $1300 and didn't have the money, so I went to the judge, she had me arrested when I agreed to sit it out for 2 days. I did my time, was let go, but I do have an arrest for FTA and speeding and jail time. They did my prints.

I was accepted to a school for LVN and they did a background that came back clear, but after that I found out I was accepted to an RN program at a better school, so I chose it, and I have worked my tail off to make straight A's and get a 94 on my HESI. Now this school had me do a finger print scan and I am so worried. My life rides on this... I mean it wasn't like I was drinking and driving... I was just young, speeding and didn't have the money to pay it, so foolishly ignored it until I sat it out in jail... Ugh. What can I expect. I know my background was clear, but they didn't do prints on the last back ground check. They did on this one. Will I be able to explain? Will they hold that against me? I want to be a nurse more than anything in the world and I have spent over $8000 already on pre-req classes, and now just bought $1200 in books, so I am nervous nervous~!
