  1. In 2004 I got a ticket for speeding, but I was young and ignored it, and got a failure to appear. In 2007 I found out the fine was $1300 and didn't have the money, so I went to the judge, she had me arrested when I agreed to sit it out for 2 days. I did my time, was let go, but I do have an arrest for FTA and speeding and jail time. They did my prints. I was accepted to a school for LVN and they did a background that came back clear, but after that I found out I was accepted to an RN program at a better school, so I chose it, and I have worked my tail off to make straight A's and get a 94 on my HESI. Now this school had me do a finger print scan and I am so worried. My life rides on this... I mean it wasn't like I was drinking and driving... I was just young, speeding and didn't have the money to pay it, so foolishly ignored it until I sat it out in jail... Ugh. What can I expect. I know my background was clear, but they didn't do prints on the last back ground check. They did on this one. Will I be able to explain? Will they hold that against me? I want to be a nurse more than anything in the world and I have spent over $8000 already on pre-req classes, and now just bought $1200 in books, so I am nervous nervous~!
  2. 1. August 22nd 2 Mount Pleasant Texas 3 ADN 4 Learn and know how to do critical thinking 5. My 2 year old son and husband
  3. Hello all. I start school this month. I am doing the RN program which is 2 years. I have all my pre and coreqs out of the way, so all I will be doing is nursing classes and medical terminology. Any advice? I have a 2 year old and a husband, but I have been going to school full time since my son was born so I am used to that load... I am terrified because I really do not know what to expect. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
  4. Actually I have not started it yet... I was accepted to the ADN program to start on August 22nd. I have a 2 year old and a husband, and I have been going for 2 years taking pre reqs and co reqs, so get those out of the way first for sure... The director told me that it will be VERY time consuming, but I would think that would be any nursing program! Good luck to you!! I am sure you can handle it!!
  5. What kind of info are you wanting?
  6. Our school encourages the use of electronics and skyscape but it is optional. Before I drop $600, I would like to know if the tablets are handy in a school setting? Thanks.
  7. Well I am 28, and my husband is able to care for our son along with daycare and I do not work, and since I have all of the co reqs out of the way, all the way to the BSN program, I am not worried about family life, mainly what the program is like... thanks everyone!
  8. I have been accepted to the RN program at my school, and I have all of my support classes including A&P 2... the only thing missing is chemistry, yikes... I had intro to chem and made it through with a B by the grace of God... What is it like to be in nursing school? I have a 2 year old, and I have been going to school full time for 2 years getting all my pre-reqs and nursing support courses, but I hear nursing itself is super tough. I would just like a general idea of your schedule and work load, and some encouragement lol... Thanks!
  9. For the last year and a half I have been taking nursing related classes... I have taken, English I and II, Humanities, A&P 1 and 2, Human growth and development, Intro to psych, Philosophy, Intro to chemistry, college algebra, statistics, Nutrition, Business computer, Microbiology and History... I have an A in all of them except Intro to psych which was a B... I have not taken the Hesi. I tend to bomb tests from being nervous. I know I will pass the Hesi, but I am wondering what I can do to be more favorable to get in... It is SO competitive here. I took a CNA class, but never got certified. I took it for experience. I also took a phlebotomy class, but I don't know if they look at that or not. What can I do! I really want to be accepted, but it seems only a certain type of high class people get accepted, and I am struggling and do not look high class in any way...
