Hi everyone! I was just accepted to Nassau Community for the fall semester! The acceptance they say is tentative upon an interview but I hear the interview is no big deal, its more like an orientation but you have to write an essay.

Has anyone else gotten their acceptance letter yet? Good luck to everyone!

Same here ANny LOL but we won't be meeting on the 24th lol - My interview/orientation was scheduled for the 25the lol

But I'm sure we'll meet up very soon at some point!

Please personal message me with how it went and if there is anything is particular I should expect

CONGRATULATIONS!!! It's going to be a lot of work, but well worth it!!!:yeah:

THANKS SO MUCH!

Congrats!!!!!! Yep, me too!!!!!!!! I was accepted to both Nassau and Farmingdale's RN Program!!!!!!!! What did you hear about Nassau vs Farmingdale's RN program? And oh boy an essay, are sure, no one mentioned an essay..... the letter says if I am not interested e-mail them.....more hurdle, geeezzzz....lol.....

Farmingdale actually rejected me!! I had to take the NLN pre-entrance exam to get in there and I got an 82, usually they start the acceptance process by those who got a 99 and work downward. Lucky for me Nassau County does not have a pre-entrance exam and they work only on GPA and how many pre-reqs are done.

GOod luck to you - I bet by the end of the week you will have your acceptance letter too =)

Congrats to you!!!!!! I got accepted to both Nassau and Farmingdale!! I got a 99 on NLN and the told me right away. I got a 4.0 straight down and I am on the "President's List" for all my semesters. Nassau sent me a letter of acceptance, but did not mention an essay. Wow, more hurdles......geeezzz.....lol..... Now I am trying to decide which school I should attend.... What did you hear about Nassau's program and Farmingdale's program? I pretty much know quite a few of the nursing students and they all have nothing but good things to say about Farmingdale's program.....they all love their professors, which is pretty impressive for any nursing program.

:yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah:

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!

You must be soooo happy and I am sooo happy for you! I know how great it feels to get accepted.

I applied to Farmingdale but didnt get as you read from my previous post.

If I was accepted to Farmingdale and Nassau and I had to choose I would choose Nassau for a few reasons

1- Its a closer commute to my house

2- Nassau has a higher passing rate of the NCLEX than Farmingdale does by alot. In 2009 Nassau had 145/168 pass giving it a 86.3 % passing rate and Farmingdale had 77/120 pass giving it only 64.2% passing rate.

Whatever you do is obviously up to you and congratulations either way!

Both schools have a great reputation and either way I am sure you will do fine!

I too know people who have gotten to Farmingdale and they love the program, and at the same time a friend of mine graduation from NCC last May and she said she loved it too.

WHen I got accepted I spoke to the admissions lady at NCC and she told me the interview was no big deal - its mostly to make sure the students speak and understand English. They do have you write an essay but I believe that is to make sure you can properly write in English.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks so much------Congrats to you!!!!!! Hooray!!!!! I know I looked at the NCLEX pass rates, but then again that could be due to many factors... such as, did the grads wait a period of time before taking the test in addition to not constantly be in "study mode" - which then reflected in poor test grades? Who knows what happen? On the flip side, I did speak to recent Farmingdale grads who all took and passed the NCLEX on the first shot!! Shout out to them---CONGRATS!!! I wanted to know what specifics that you may have heard about Nassau's RN program, like how is it set up, how nurturing are the professors, etc.....lol......

:up::up::up::up::up::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah:

My friend told me that all her professors were wonderful except for one. If you want to Personal Message me I will tell you her name. She told me that they were all really helpful. I got the names of some other professors she had mentioned and looked them up on ratemyprofessor.com and the ratings were good. I do know that the schedule for first semester is 4 days a week. Three of those days is lecture at the school for 2 hours on 2 days, 2 1/2 hours on another day, and clinicals are one day a week from 8-3:30.

My friend got mostly A's and she told me as long as you study and are dedicated you'll do fine...which you'll hear pretty much anywhere.
