Accepted as an alternate for the ASN program at ivy tech Columbus fall 2016

Published

I recently received a "selected as an alternate" letter from the Ivy tech Columbus campus. I'm excited just to be an alternate and I'm excited to go to orientation, but I'm super nervous. Does anyone know the likelihood of actually getting in after being an alternate?

You could ask them and they'd probably have an idea. I got into my program as 10th alternate. There were about 60 spaces in the program, total. Anyone who fails their background check, fails their drug test, can't pay, moves out of the area or simply changes their mind creates a vacancy. Your odds depend on where you rank and how many seats are available to start out with.

Good luck! It can be stressful going through all the motions without knowing if you'll actually have a seat, but it worked out in my case.

Well when I emailed them about specifics, I was just told that I would be given more information about the alternate list at orientation. This wait is gonna kill me.lol Thanks for the response and the luck. I'll need it.

UPDATE:

Orientation was on 7/13 and all of the alternates ended up getting in!!! There were so many people who did not show up to orientation, so that gave me a great advantage. So excited to start nursing school in the fall!!
