Has anyone heard when acceptance letters will be mailed out??

If you hear anything, please let everyone know!!

August 15th at the main campus its pretty much all day. [/quote']

I can't believe that I'll be part of orientation this time! For two years in a row, I used to envy those newly accepted ASN students asking for directions to the lecture hall during orientation day. :-)

Now, it's my turn and ours, too! ;-)

Orientation is on Aug 15 from 9-4 at the main campus. The welcome packet will include all the paperwork you will need to complete the checklist. It's due by July 12 or your provisional acceptance will be declined.

I see! Thank you for the info!

I see! Thank you for the info!

No problem! See you soon! Just two more months!

Enjoy your summer everyone!!! We will be thankful we did once school starts!

I know!! I'm so excited! Ahhhh :D :D A dream come true! Did you guys go to the regular student orientation as well? I see there are several different dates for that and wasn't sure whether or not to go if there's a nursing orientation?

I went to that about two years ago. But I think the nursing orientation will cover everything.

I happened to have emailed my nursing advisor today asking if our Nursing orientation would cover some of the info from the other and her reply was " If you are new to ung , TSOAR is valuable with orientation to university , aug 15 is for nursing only". I think I will probably sign up for the July 24th orientation date. I thought it was great she replied on a Sunday, she must be buried in emails!!!

When I did the new student orientation (called INTRO) in 2011 it was a representative from each college, financial aid, Registar, even the Campus police. They each basically gave information about their respective departments. Later you were able to met with an advisor from the department of your major and register for classes. I didn't do the orientation which included a tour of the campus.

Now that the college has been consolidated I am sure it is a little bit more different from when I did it. Please let us all know what information you receive on the 24th! Thanks!!

And that says a lot about your advisor replying on a Sunday! She must be great!!!

Well hearing your experience I'm debating if its really necessary? I am a transfer student and only am taking Nursing classes since I've completed all my core, my biggest questions are the layout of the campus, when should I get my student id and where I park....

UNG has detailed maps of its buildings, designated student parking, and other pertinent info. I wasn't able to actually tour the campus since it rained buckets when I had my INTRO/JSOAR in June 2011. Like what Nikki said, it's an event where a smorgasbord of info from all departments are laid out in the Memorial Hall gym. One can register for a tour of the campus online. I saw group tours every week every semester. :-)

I was happy to have attended it because I got to meet my advisor, register for my core classes, and got to witness newly-accepted ASN gals registered for their cores. That was the norm at the time. :-)

As someone with a non-US transcript, it was a treat to get an overview of how a US university looks and feels like.

Thanks ladies! I think based on your recommendations I will skip this and save the gas money (I live in Jasper). On a side note has anyone gotten their uniforms yet? I was just about to order, I'm debating sizing I don't like not being able to try on don't want to order to snug or too large.

About the uniforms, make sure you order them with plenty of time to return them, as their sizing is strange. I measured myself and ordered the uniform according to their guidelines and had to return the tops and bottoms. The tops were so snug that I couldn't breathe and the bottoms could've held 2 of me. Also, if you're tall, don't order the longer pants. My friend is over 6 ft tall and got the longer pants and had to get them hemmed. They were great about the return and getting me back the correct size but you do have to pay shipping to get the wrong sizes back to them. And, I know many other of my fellow classmates who had to do returns, as the sizing is strange.

I graduated in May and just passed my NCLEX last week. It seems like forever that I was in your shoes but it's only been 2 years. UNG does a great job of preparing it's students for the NCLEX as I don't know if anyone has not passed it, of the people who I know who've taken it so far. It is an extremely hard test and I honestly thought that I'd failed it, but I passed and am on cloud nine!

Any questions you might have, I'll be happy to answer, as I know how many questions I had and didn't have anyone to ask.
