Accelerated 1 year nursing schools

Hi i'm a senior at Queens college. I'd ideally like to start an accelerated ONE yr bsn school. The only science i havent taken is microbio. @ things: do any of you know a schools that dont require all pre reqs completed by appllication deadline? Or a place where i can take microbio online with the lab or somtehing like that? thanks

Most schools will allow you to have 1 or 2 prerequisites being completed at time of application deadline.

You can check out the suny learning network - Online Degrees and Certificates with Open SUNY | The State University of New York for online courses. I took microbiology at Cayuga CC online, and found it through the suny learning network.

The CUNYs (Lehman, Hunter) do not require all prereqs completed by the deadline, however you are only allowed at most 2 pre-reqs that are pending and should be completed by the time the ABSN program starts. You have to be registered for them though so it reflects on your transcript that you will take the class. CAn you take micobiology at community college or your college in the SPring?

Hi Moahlerner,

Stony Brook's Accelerated Nursing program in Long Island, New York does not require certain pre-reqs before applying. You would have to put in progress on your application though and expect to complete the courses (developmental psych etc.) before entering the program/graduating. I know that the three sciences microbio, chemistry and anatomy/phys do have to be completed before applying. Like DivaliciousMe85 has mentioned, the SUNY learning network offers multiple courses online that are all semester based so if you look soon, you can definitely find some courses that can meet your deadlines! I also think its great that you have completed anatomy and chemistry as I would like to think those are harder to find within sequence when looking elsewhere to complete.
