accelerated schedule Quinnipiac/Fairfield/Uconn/St joseph

U.S.A. Connecticut

Hey looking for people that have done the accelerated route. Either school!!! How was it with children I am looking for next fall 2016 or 2017. My kid will be a year old when i started fall 2016 and 2 if i did 2017.

How was the schedule for classes? Clinicals? Any advice?

For UConn it starts in January. Spring semester you have one day of class, two clinical days, one half day of lab. Summer semester you have one day of class, two days of clinical, and 1 half day plus 1 full day of lab total. Fall will probably be like summer.

As far as when you have clinical, we get four options (which may or may not have locations AND schedules at the time we pick) and then you pick top three choices. Personally, I've always gotten my first and second choice thus far, but some campuses aren't that lucky when everybody wants the same sites.

I have a TON of classmates with children of all ages - it's definitely doable with a good support system and a babysitter or nanny on standby.

Thanks-- you attend recently ?

I'm currently in the program!

okay great!! im applying for 2017-- missed one class so i cant apply for january 2016-- ugh .. but thinking waterbury campus because i live near middletown, between that and QU-the tough program-lol.. but uconn sounds competitive and all. I have heard mixed reviews some people dont feel prepared after they leave uconn. i have no medical background at all

I just got accepted to Saint Joseph ASD for nursing , Ill let you know how it goes, I have to boys in elementary school.
