Accelerated program at Linfield

U.S.A. Oregon

Hey out there!

I just found out that I have been accepted from the waitlist into the summer start program at Linfield. Since I am a little behind I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on where to get immunizations and the health check. Cheapest route possibe. Also I would love to hear from anyone else who's starting at the same time or any graduates who have advice. I'm a little nervous and very excited.

Any information would be great. Thank you!:yeah:

Taz,

Where did you see this schedule for Resource Analysis Assignment? Have you already registered? I was under the impression that we would register on orientation day....

am I already FALLING BEHIND?!

:crying2:

No, you're not. No worries. You are correct, we are registering on orientation day. The schedule for the Resources Analysis Assignment was in the envelope they just mailed us with the orientation information. It is on a yellow sheet of paper and has the cohort split into groups of 10 and scheduled for different days/times during the first week of school.

As far as the rest of the schedule, I found the schedule at:

Courses | Linfield College, Portland Campus

and the calendar at:

Oops... nevermind... I just saw your post on the FB group and double-checked the list. You hadn't transferred over when my list was created, but I'm pretty sure they'll schedule you in for Friday, June 25 from 4-6 pm because it only has 8 students. You should receive an info. packet in the mail, soon. :)

Hi classmates!

I just wanted to throw in my two cents and let you know that while it is exciting and scary and nerveracking all at the same time..... RELAX.

I actually started last fall with the Fall 2009 cohort. Two weeks into the term, my husband died unexpectedly and I had to withdraw. I cannot even begin to tell you how WONDERFUL the Linfield faculty and admin staff are. They have worked with me every step of the way and put in more hours than necessary to make sure I was ready to come back this summer.

So, with that in mind, I have already gone through all of this anxiety and can tell you that ALL questions will be answered thoroughly at the orientation. It is a full day that will cover everything from what shoes to wear to how many hours a week you will realistically have to work. I have already confirmed with Lisa Burch (an excellent resource on campus BTW) that for the summer, we will all be in the same classes/labs so there is no actual registration, other than being assigned our lab times.

The spring term just ended last week, so I'm sure the staff has been overwhelmed with graduation, grades, etc. I expect that things like syllabi and book lists will be uploaded to the Linfield website shortly.

Enjoy your last few weeks of freedom. I look forward to talking with you here and meeting up before orientation at Starbucks.

If anyone wants to get together before then, I live in SW Portland, near St Vincents hospital. And i will work on re-organizing all of my info from the fall and get you guys book lists, etc. I was told everything would be the same for me, since I had already bought all of my books in Sept.

Oh my gosh Nora I'm so sorry about your husband!!! That must have so hard to deal with!!! That's great to hear though that Linfield's faculty was so understanding. I'm not sure how they couldn't be though with that situation, although I'm sure some aren't nearly as nice. Everyone there has been wonderful since my first visit to inquire about the program.

I think I'll feel much better after the first day of orientation, it's just the apprehension I think that's the worst, lol!!!

I look forward to meet you at Starbucks!!!!

Wow, Nora! I'm so sorry! I can't even begin to imagine...

I'm glad the faculty and staff have been so helpful and supportive! It really makes a big difference when you're dealing with such hardship and heartache.

Thanks for the words of encouragement! :) See you in a few weeks!
