accelerated bsn program at njcu in jersey city, nj

Published

Does anybody attend the Accelerated BSN program in NJCU? If so what is the cost of the program? How competative is it to get in? Will they accept you if your overall GPA is lower than a 3.0 but you have a very high GPA in your prerequisites? Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks.

why are you doing nursing if u have a masters degree then? what is your degree in ?

Oh wow you have some great credentials... What makes you think you do not have a shot at another program?! If you don't mind me asking what was your undergrad gpa... Try FDU they might still be taking applications for their 2yr part time bsn progrsm, only thing is that it's pretty pricy! About 60k for the program!

well my undergraduate GPA is not great, so every school requires a 3.0 of above and i dont have that. they wont even look at u. drexel already rejected me bc they only look at numbers, which i think is absolutely absurd. how do they compare someone who has a history degree to someone who has a bachelors degree in biology?? it doesnt make sense.

I applied back in January! I had an undergrad gpa of 3.1 :/ but a 4.0 in my pre-reqs... I have volunteer experience in a hospital... I scored an 84 on the Hesi... I really wonder how they made their decision! Many of you have much better credentials than I do and I got accepted!

KrisEMT:

If you have at least a 2.8 undergrad FDU will consider you... They are very good at working with you! I agree with you though bio is a tough major!

I'm thinking that maybe they looked at the person as a whole. Maybe the personal statement topic and recommendations played a larger role than we think. When I called they said that the HESI was really important but who knows. I just don't understand why KrisEMT is wait listed with all that experience.

i am so disappointed i just dont understand why I wasnt accepted.

Sundrop makes a good point... I remember the director telling me they look at the person as a whole and that rec letters played a big role too...

should i call and ask?? im so perplexed.

well i had great recommendations, one from my cell and molecular biology professor at my college, and the other from my EMT crew chief I ride with where I volunteer in my hometown

Give them a call, ask what number you are on the list...or just simply tell them you do not understand why you were not accepted..
