accelerated bsn program at njcu in jersey city, nj

Published

Does anybody attend the Accelerated BSN program in NJCU? If so what is the cost of the program? How competative is it to get in? Will they accept you if your overall GPA is lower than a 3.0 but you have a very high GPA in your prerequisites? Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks.

hi loving care

why did u apply to the WALL T campus? isnt jersey city closer to you since u live in north jersey?

hey aspiring_nursing,

yes, jersey city is closer to me, but the way i figured it is that i have to leave my job anyway, so i could do the commute down to wall and i'd rather start in may than september. really just eager to get the degree, i haven't heard any differences in the program between the 2 locations.

I am soo nervous too about getting in... my essay was a little over 2 pages but it was too the point.

Thank you....is it the overall average of an 80 that is required or an 80 in each section??

dear loving care and everyone else that has taken HESI,

It seems that online you can see the grades for hesi and also the percentage of everyone's average. it looks like I did above avarage for math and english and comperable to everyone else in the sciences, which was close to 70.. Did you guys get 70s in the sciences? or was this just hesi globally averaged. I am thinking and (hoping) those percentages are for individuals applying to the program njcu. So LOVING CARE, since u have been accepted would u share ur hesi scores for individual sections AND EVERYONE ELSE ACCEPTED TOO... u dont have to be exact if u dont want but at least an approximate. I am just worried i performed poorly in the sciences... thank u!

Hi Everyone,

I am new here, I am happy to be a part of this group. I find the info here has been very interesting and informative. I am also applying to NJCU ABSN for Fall. Took the HESI on Wed but had difficulties at the testing site which I believe affected my ability to perform at my best. I received my scores today which showed above average on all areas except BIO--totally Flunked it! My overall percentage was still above 80 so I called and spoke with Nursing Coordinator and was told that I have certainly met the requirement (80%) however to stay competitive they would suggest a retake because they do look at the individual scores. So I have decided to retake next week since I wont have to pay again. So I guess I will really study my BIO and at the same time make sure I maintain or improve the other areas. Good Luck to all of you!

how come u dont have to pay again?

i did not have to pay because i complained about the problems i experienced at the site. had computer problems and had to get restart couple x's.

Aspiring, I live in CT so took it in Norwalk, CT. I would like to do the retake somewhere else though....maybe Whaite Plains NY or other in NY.

All my grades were above average too aspiring....i got 80's and 90's in every section except bio which i got like a 78 or something but that was still above average. Im not sure what those averages are based on, I was thinking the same thing yesterday.

i have a question for people who are already accepted or in the program..what kind of loans did you take out to pay for the program.
