Hello everybody,

I'm going to apply for September 2010, I already took the HESI but I didn't do that well so I want to take it again.. Please do you know if I have to pay again or not.. it is expensive.. so Please let me know and thanks for your help.. Ohh and what do I have to do to retake the test???..

I have to take the HESI soon, and I didnt know I would have to take it that soon, by april 15. I have so much work at my school right now that I just cant focus. So the practice book is so expensice about $40 . anyone around hackensack that I can purchase it from? Also i have not even taken Chem, but i took some in HS, lol...you guys think that just by studying i will be able to do well? I took the GRE for PACE and it was not good, but not as bad... I also have to take the MAT for GRE instead now. so reall, is the HESI not that big of a deal? The math and chem is what scares me!! I know just 10th grade math, after that dont know much....I dont want to purchase the book online, did any of you get it from a bookstore? good luck to all.

I asked them to write out my strengths and then also why I would make a good nurse. It was general not specific to NYU's program.

I should also mention to anyone that did not take the HESI yet, study the VOCAB section!! There were at least 5 words directly from the practice book, that I would have never known if I did not look at that section. I think the vocab section was my lowest score out of all 7 sections.

did u study from evelove reach assesment and remediation admissions exam review 2nd edition? 2008??ibsn 9781416056355? r u applying for the jersey city fall 2010?

We took ours early because we are applying for the communiversity program that starts in May. The September cohort on Jersey City's campus doesn't have to take theirs yet.

Still nothing in my mail today!!!! Congrats to everyone who is in!

did u end up getting in the school with ur very competitive hesi score? hope u did!

Hi, For me it wasn't that easy the HESI. I took it once and I didn't do great so I am going to retake it ($90 again!! :/) In the test I saw things that I didn't see it in the book, I'm not sure if it's the same test for everybody..or I wasn't that lucky.. Well I am reading everything again and let's see how I'll do it.. math is easy but for me hardest part was anatomy and biology.. so hopefully I can improve my score.. Good luck to everybody!! OHHH by the way I got my book online..

sorry so late replying. yes, i took the hesi and purchased the book however, to me it did not help in the biology, chem and ap section for me... i actually reviewed question from my textbooks from those subjects... it kinda helped. i did okay on the hesi... hopefully my other application requirements and pre-req will weight out my hesi grades. my suggestion is to review your textbooks or google topics that relate to general biology, chemistry and ap i and ii. the math section and english was straight out from the hesi review book... hope this helps. good luck.... now i wait for my acceptance letter in the mail hopeully you too will recieve one!!! i know we will......take care

Hi! I'm also applying for NJCU for Sept 2010 and i will be taking the Hesi A2 test very soon and i was wondering if anyone had any advice, study guide, or anything that would help. I know i saw a thread where someone had a study guide, but it was closed and i cant PM anyone since i just registered on this site. If anyone has any information i would appreciate it. Thank you :)

What does A2 mean? I dont know anything about this test lol. there seems to not be a website explaining this test. someone will lend me the book and i will study from it. is the highest score you can get an 80? how many questions are there? and how long is the sitting on the test? Well i dont remember much from my prereqs lol but i am hopin the study book helps.

The test is 4 hrs., it has different parts like anatomy, biology, chem., vocab, gram, math, read, critical thinking.. I'm not sure about the highest score that it is necessary.. but every part of the test has a score and then you get a total test score.. my score was low in anat. and biol.. the rest were ok.. that is why Im taking it again.. hopefully I can improve it.. lets suppose i take the test april 8th, and I find my score is low, can I take it right away a couple days later like april 15th? Also do you get the score right after you r done with the exam on the same day? thanks in advance

I will be taking the Hesi exam on April 8th.. i read somewhere that someone would have to wait at least 60 days to take it over, but I'm not really sure about this. you do get the scores of the test right after you are done and so does the school.
