Anyone else out there? Happy to have gotten my petition to Nursing Skills this past week. Excited and nervous!
I got my acceptance last Thursday! I only had 53.88 points and it was my first application, so it was kind of a HUGE shock. I even took Stats this Fall thinking I was, at the very earliest, going to get in for the Fall, which is when the Stats req kicks in. I guess a ton of people dropped, because I got the CEC spot I wanted!
Hoorayyyy!!
texaslvn12, THANK YOU so much for all the invaluable info about CEC! The only way I learned about it was when I had a friend mention the CEC program offhand that was already in the EVC program, saying it sounded "amaaazing." I hadn't ever heard anything about it, but I looked into it and realized it was definitely for me. I'm ready to be in a hospital already, and having a 24-hour no-print-limit library sounds like a dream!
Hey everyone, so as you all know orientation will be next week and I just wanted to invite you all to join the ADNSA (Associate Degree Nursing Student Association). We will be at every campus orientation with booths to give info and sign up new members. We have one meeting a month at the Eastview campus, we serve a free lunch and have some really cool speakers. We've had nurse practitioners, nurses who practice outside the hospital (hospice, hospital liason, home health, etc), people who talk about test taking strategies, career fairs and job interview skills and many others. We also sell used scrubs, those cool clipboards that are a MUST for clinicals, t-shirts (we have some new and cool ones for this semester) and we have also started to sell some cool stethoscopes (we will have all of this at orientation as well).
Here is a link to the facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ACCADNSA, please like it to get updates. We post all meetings and events on the facebook page and it can be a good way to communicate between campuses and levels if you ever need help, to sell or buy books/supplies and things like that.
As of now, most of our officers are in level 4 so we REALLY need some lower level involvement.
Please be sure and check us out at orientation and come to a meeting, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!
