Academy for Nursing and Health Occupations

U.S.A. Florida

I'm considering pursuing an LPN or RN degree at the Academy for Nursing and Health Occupations in West Palm Beach, FL. Has anyone taken classes there? If so, what was your experience? How do employers view a nursing degree from this school? Thanks.

If you're considering the LPN to RN bridge here, please turn and run the other way. The owner and staff only care about the pass rate percentage, bottom line. They "allow" you to stay in the program and encompass the exit exams into their last semester so even if you have successfully completed all of the courses, if you don't achieve their (outrageously high) standards on the exits, you will not pass nursing school. It's a shame they allow this school to remain open when they do not care about their students. Please look into another school. Yes you will see the pass rate is great but it is GROSSLY disproportioned to the amount of students who started there and successfully made it to the end but never actually were able to exit.

I thought that was there goal! To make sure you can pass the board. Chances are if you didn't do well on the exit that's the likely hood of the nclex. Most schools start with (example) 100% and 50% complete. I know many who completed and are currently attending. And all will say it's no walk in the park but if you do your part you will pass the board. If my schedule prevails there is where I will be attending.

Hope things work out for you!

It should be the goal of every school to prepare you to pass the board, yes. Chances are if you do well on the exits, which are simply predictors for the nclex, then yes you'll pass the nclex. This is not a sure thing, some still don't pass nclex when they meet the exit requirements for this school. The thing that I suggest you research is the score needed for ANHO's exit exams (two 900 HESI scores), your ability as a test taker to achieve those scores, and your options to seek education elsewhere. Good luck to you.
