Hello everyone,
This past semester I failed my my Medical Surgical/Pediatrics class and now I am taking the remediation course and hoping to be readmitted in the summer or the spring. I am embarrassed and ashamed that I failed, but I am moving past this and will not let it stop me from reaching my end goal of becoming a nurse.
As part of our remediation process we have to write a readmission letter to the chair person of the nursing program. We were told some stuff to include, such as our ACT scores, our name/ID number, which semester we failed, etc. I was wondering if anyone could lead me into the right direction on what else to include in the letter. Should this be my attempt to explain how I will do better, if reinstated? I don't know exactly what is expected in this letter. If anyone has any advice on how to write this letter to make it stand out, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you in advance!

I would certainly include a thorough, honest and unflinching self reflection, stating clearly why I failed. Then I would include detailed and realistic measures that I have taken, or plan to take, to address these reasons. I would explain what the experience has taught me and how I plan to include these lessons in my practice. Hope this helps.
