  1. Hello everyone, This past semester I failed my my Medical Surgical/Pediatrics class and now I am taking the remediation course and hoping to be readmitted in the summer or the spring. I am embarrassed and ashamed that I failed, but I am moving past this and will not let it stop me from reaching my end goal of becoming a nurse. As part of our remediation process we have to write a readmission letter to the chair person of the nursing program. We were told some stuff to include, such as our ACT scores, our name/ID number, which semester we failed, etc. I was wondering if anyone could lead me into the right direction on what else to include in the letter. Should this be my attempt to explain how I will do better, if reinstated? I don't know exactly what is expected in this letter. If anyone has any advice on how to write this letter to make it stand out, I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance!
  2. My name is Alyssa Marie Jarreau, and in my profile picture I am wearing a purple dress. Thank you so much, that would be great!
  3. Thank you and congratulations to you both!! I am so excited and anxious that everything is quickly approaching! Are any of y'all on Facebook or any other social media site? I am from Madison, AL, near Huntsville, AL and I know nothing about Jasper or the surrounding areas, so I am trying to meet as many people in our cohort as possible.
  4. Hello! I recently applied to BSCC and I got into the program at the Jasper campus! Are any of y'all going to be at that campus for Summer 17?
  5. No, but I'm anxiously checking the mailbox every day! How about you?
  6. Hello! I applied as well, for Fall 2017, and I have 33 points total. Last semester the lowest point total that was accepted was a 39, so I am extremely nervous about only having 33. I received a 26 on my ACT in high school.
  7. I am so glad I finally found a 2017 thread. I applied for the fall 2017 semester and I am anxious to hear back. I have a 26 ACT score and 1 A, 1 B, and 2 C's for my grades. Should I look elsewhere or do I actually have a shot of getting in.
  8. That makes me feel better! I am so anxious waiting for the letter to come in the mail. I know they won't be sent out for at least another two weeks but I can't help but check every day. Hopefully we both hear good news soon!
  9. Hello all, I was wondering, from those who have applied to or have been accepted into Southern Union's nursing program recently, roughly what your credentials were. Right now, my GPA is the only thing I think that I have to worry about. I'm not sure exactly what it is but it is below a 3.0. My ACT score is a 26 and I have completed all prerequisite nursing classes. I have never attended Southern Union so I do not have the priority points. Do you believe there is any chance I have of getting in? I am extremely anxious because of my GPA and I was wondering if this was a problem for anyone else.
