What does the 2° abbreviation mean? Secondary to?
Here is an example:
P: Disuse Osteoporosis
E: lack of weight bearing stress on bones 2° to prescribed traction
S: pathological fracture left hip
Thanks!

Yep, it means secondary to...
So, the lack of weight bearing stress on the bones is secondary to (or caused by/or as a result of) the traction.

It obviously doesn't apply in your context but in our hospital they also use it to mean hours.

In our hospital, it's a doc's abbreviation for "Secondary to."
