AANP study tips

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I received my eligibility letter to sit for the AANP FNP exam today with plans to take the exam in June. Reading through posts, I have noticed that Fitzgeralds has been a popular study tool. Has anybody taken Amelie Holliers cert review course? We attended hers during our last semester. So I am wondering if Amelies or Fitzgeralds is better? Thanks yall

I to have received an e-mail from the AANP to sit for boards. I have not gotten a letter with my registration number on it yet, should be in the mail now. I will probably sit for my exam in July or August. I attended Fitzgerald's review in April, I have her CD's and alot of the information was verbatim. I was unaware of this when I attended. I looked into the Amelie Hollier lecture, but I was unsure. How did you feel about this one?

I attended Amelies review course during the last semester and have listened to Fitzgeralds cd. I believe they are both very inteliigent women. Both provide pneumonics and keys to remembering things. No preference of one over the other.

I recently met both Hollier and fitzgerald at the AANP conferance both where very knowledge able about the certification and where very nice. I met other NP at the conferance and many of them had taken one or the other and some even both all of them had nothing but positive things to say about them.

I have met Margaret Fitzgerald one and attended one of her certification review conferences. I am debating about Hollier's review that is coming up in Tennessee in August. I will be taking the boards in August.

Speedi-I took the AANP yesterday, and it was that hard AT ALL. I would be very knowledgeable about the common disorders you will see in primary care including lab values. IMO, its all about the nursing process. If you have any other questions feel free to PM me!

I liked Barkley. Fitzgerald talks really fast. Good info either way

I took the AANP exam 11 days ago. Thank God I passed!:) Took the Amelie Hollier review course back in March, Fitzgerald and Barkley CD used. All were helpful study tools. Does anyone know which or if both AANP and or ANCC is accepted by Long Beach VA hospital for employment? I know that reciprocity was ended Jan. 2011 to take one exam and pay to receive the other.
