A Tribute to holiday hospital staff, written by a patient

This was written by the brother of a friend, while hospitalized over the holidays:

'Twas the day before Christmas

And all through the halls

All the people were stirring

And making their calls

There were lab techs and nurses

And aides of all sorts

Poking and prodding

And checking iV ports

Lights on and off

At hours way too early

Even drug induced sleep

Fled in a hurry

Christmas Eve in the hospital

Was not my first choice

But here I am getting cared for

And so I rejoice

Choose to be where you are

And not where you're not

The blessings will find you

And they'll be quite a lot

I am blessed beyond measure

With love, care and light

And people around me

Helping set my body right

So on this day before Christmas

With snow on the ground

May you notice the gifts

Which are everywhere to be found

Merry Christmas!
