A school worth moving to

Published

Hello Nurses,

Due to my school loosing its license in Massachusetts I am looking for a change of scenery. Looking for any advice on cheap city/states to live. And quality programs I could apply to close by. I have all the prerequisites and a decent gpa of 3.3 Thank you for any and all suggestions.

Thanks!

There’s a couple of good ADN programs in SE Wisconsin, and ADN is all you need to get into a hospital around here (they will then pay for your BSN). The job market is very good here too, and there are a couple of excellent hospitals. Based on a lot of what I’ve read on these forums I have it pretty good around here.

Yes thank you just the suggestions i'm looking for! I will look into it. Any specific schools you like. I am fine with an ADN that is the program I was in over here in MA.

The two big schools for ADN are Waukesha County Technical College and Milwaukee Area Technical College. They have the exact same curriculum, since it is mandated by the state. I'd recommend either of them and know people who have graduated from both and have gotten jobs easily. MATC has multiple locations which might make it easier to transfer into, but I don't know how full they are. WCTC generally has just about enough room for the students applying, some get part time until something becomes available. Not exactly sure if it's first come first served or merit based to be honest, but I didn't have any issues. PM me if you need any more info, I'm happy to help.

Sound Great I'm going to check up on them both right now. The only other questions I have would be. what are affordable places to live in the area? It wont let me PM you for some reason though. Thanks for this very helpful post!

You should be able to find something near either of them, it just depends if you want to live in the downtown area or out in the suburbs. Either way you should be able to find something affordable. ? Good luck!
