Hi,
I just have a quick question. I'll be finishing my online rn-bsn program in a month from now. Do I need to notify my state board for getting a BSN? Or do I just let my current employer know when I'm done to add the bsn to my badge :). Thanks and sorry if this sound s a little stupid. Thanks again.

I know that if you apply for a license in another state, they will call to verify the degree you listed with the SBON of original licensure. Therefore, my guess is yes. Just shoot them a quick email & find out.

Please don't take this wrong way, and Congratulations on you most awesome achievement. Also Welcome to Allnurses.com-look forward to more posts.
But, varying state to state, Requirements change like temperature. Don't depend on a thread for Board of Nursing issues. I would contact the board and just ask, their the best source for that type of information. Good Luck and again, Congrats!!!!!!!

If you are already a licensed RN, there is no action to be taken with your state board of nursing.
