A few questions about working in the field of nursing?

Could somebody answer these questions so I can sum up my own ideas.

What organizational factors at your clinical site are stressful for nurses? How could they be eliminated or reduced?

There are a few that come to mind, but the more who participate the better I am to pick the best factor.

Also, analyze the concept of reality shock and evaluate your own potential for experiencing this, how could you prevent it?

Our clinical site recently went to primary care nursing. So each nurse is responsible for their own 4-5 patients (or maybe more, I can't remember). However whoever assigns rooms to patients, and assigns nurses patients doesn't try to group these patients together. Often times, the RN will have 4 patients in one 4-bed ward at the end of the hall, and then a patient in a private room across the floor at the opposite end of the hall. The nurse rarely has time to go see that one patient, and if one of her patients is critical, several times I've heard them say they haven't even been in to see them for several hours. Poor organizational managment in my opinon. If an RN is going to have the critical unstable patients, maybe grouping these patients together (as much as possible) would be a good idea.
