A promise is a promise.

Once upon a time, Mary was married to John. John was a miser - a first class penny pincher. He never shared his money with his wife. One day John turns to Mary and says, "When I die, you BETTER bury my money with!" Being the always good and submissive wife, Mary agreed. Mary told her best friend, Tina, about this conversation and Tina said, "Are you really going to put ALL that money in the coffin with him?" Mary says, "Of course. I am a woman of my word and I will keep my promise to my dear husband." Then John died shortly after.

At the funeral, Mary and Tina sat in the front role. After some contemplating, Mary walked towards her husband's coffin. She then reached inside of her purse and pulled out a white envelope. As Mary did this, Tina's eyes widened and she thought to herself that she could not believe Mary was going through with it. But then again, Mary is a woman of her word. Mary then puts the envelope in the coffin, kisses her husband on the forehead and walks back to her seat. Tina is in great disbelief but with great respect for Mary keeping her promise.

After the funeral, Tina says to Mary, "I can't believe you put the money in the coffin." Mary says, "Of course I did. My husband told me to bury him with his money and I vowed to do the right thing. So on the day he died, I wrote a check for all his life's savings and today I put it in his coffin. So now all he has to do is cash the check!" :):yeah:

Never underestimate a woman's intellect!
