Yes, because the docs want it. When the docs made this rule, other nurse and I knew how much more it would hold up patient flow. And it took me 8 minutes on this particular day... for which I was secretly timed, and scolded. Last week was my official end of fulltime work there. I MIGHT be asked to come in one day this week. I have let other nurse know the place would basically have to be on fire before I be willing to work there. Ever.
I went well. They wanted a 2nd interview, in a hurry. But... I actually chose not to pursue it further. It was fulltime, 40 hours, plus call duty. There was also a disaster preparedness component that I was just not ready to take on. I live in a hurricane zone, and the reality of possibly not being able to leave, or having to wait until absolute last minute to leave was not ok to me. Could not have that stress of wondering how I would get my kids out. My husband is also in a job where he works right until the last minute before leaving. We all had an AWFUL experience leaving for Hurricane Rita. He was stranded on the road for 24 hours in the traffic. The kids and I, ages nearly 5 and nearly 2, were 'only' stuck for 6 hours in stop and go traffic. Really, part time is where my heart is. The search continues.

Taking a poll of sorts.. how long would it take you from start to finish to get a clean catch urine, vitals, and chief complaint from a patient?
Any of you who know my workplace situation know there is a story here....
